Van Morrison: the Journey, the Joy, the Healing

Van Morrison’s music and spirit have been a great joy in my life for 50+ years.
As a comment on one of his videos recently put it — he has “preserved and refined his soul over the decades and returned this precious gift to a world that so badly needs tenderness and joy!”

If most of what you know if Brown Eyed Girl and Moondance, here are a few gems for you to enjoy and hopefully go back and explore some of his 40+ albums.

1974 — Cul De Sac

1980 — Summertime In England (live)

1984 — The Master’s Eyes

1986 — In the Garden

1991 — Hymns To The Silence

1995 — Days Like This

1997 — Fire In The Belly

2005 — The Lion This Time

2016 — The Pen In Mighter Than The Sword

Van Morrison has a new album coming out in June.
Here is a beautiful single from it.

2025 — Down To Joy

I prescribe a dose of Van’s musical elixir on a daily basis.

Jeffrey Sachs — economist, public policy analyst and professor at Columbia University. His take on the political issues of the day are the most honest, direct and revealing — with all the underlying truths — that I have heard over the past few years.
Here he is on various current issues.
