These Are The Days
People say: I had One Of Those Days.
Today thoroughly applied.
I won't bore you with the details but it all began with the office chair I ordered online arriving and my having to assemble it — and about an hour+ into the project (which no mechanically uninclined senior citizen should have to take on) discovering they had included wrong parts and screws — so I had to disassemble it, rebox, and lug it to the UPS store 10 blocks away to return. The list of things that went wrong continued on and on and on — as if Mercury was in Gatorade. Footnote to the continuing drama includes foot pain — and I guess the hurting tooth qualifies as a mouthnote.
But onward now with discussing days.
"Where can we live but days?" — Philip Larkin
"These are the days now that we must savour And we must enjoy as we can." — Van Morrison
“If a man has a great deal to put in them, a day will have a hundred pockets.” — Friedrich Nietzsche
“When things go well for days on end, it is a hilarious accident.” ― Kurt Vonnegut
