September and Loss
“There’s a bit of magic in everything / and then some loss to even things out.” – Lou Reed
In the 1990s I put together a compilation of songs — under the banner of “September” — on something called a cassette (and shared it with my friends).
It was a collection of songs driven by mid-life-questioning, wrapped in the colors of autumnal songs — its sad tone and introspective lyrics segued themes of passing time, disillusionment, frustration, confusion, regret, sadness, and loss.
Over the years I added and removed songs in pursuit of a perfected image of that elusive mood indigo. In 2011 I brought that project to completion.
(Climate change may necessitate changing the title to Late October.)
YOU CAN HEAR IT NOW!!!
I managed to find 36 out of the 40 songs on YouTube and created a playlist.

And off you go.
Sorry if YouTube throws ads in.
This week's art.

Again — a big thank you to all who opened the envelope last week.
And an even bigger thank you to those who clicked and read/viewed some of the content.
As always — please do feel free to comment — or just let me know how things are in your universe.
