Seizing Moments — Cinema and Consciousness
Sunday night in the big city.
A blizzard had begun, with the possibility of a couple of feet of snow as it continues through tomorrow.
Only emergency traffic was being allowed on the streets.
It’s extra quiet.
A perfect time for a nice small meal and some choice cinema at the Anomalous Duo Playhouse.

CINEMA I
Last night’s feature was the extraordinary Russian film The Cranes Are Flying (1957) — a powerful portrait of love and loss during World War II. Directed by Mikhail Kalatozov, with truly dazzling cinematography by Sergei Urusevsky.
Very highly recommended. ★★★★★
And, you can watch the full movie on YouTube. 96 minutes.
