On The Waters and Sidewalks of NYC
Seeing that people from all over the world travel long distances to visit this place, we decided to spend the month of June in New York City.
And so, it has been almost three weeks since the last newsletter. My writing and art muses have joined Tammy and me as we are on a month-long (working) vacation.
On the first day we went to a free outdoor concert of opera at Bryant Park. A couple of days later we spent an entire day touring around Chinatown, Little Italy, and Soho. Yesterday we took some ferry rides on the waters near Manhattan, New Jersey, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. See the video below. Tonight we're going to see the Klezmatics for free in Central Park. The guidebooks suggest that much more awaits us in the coming weeks.

Let’s start with my admission that after being out and about in this very alive city recently I was fully ready to get home and shove the fridge against the door. Once I’ve had a day of relative peace and quiet I can take a deep breath and begin to again appreciate New York City all over again. This little goose of joy happens pretty much every time I turn a corner and find myself face to face with yet another wonder of this city.
