Flooded with Memories
I am currently working on the fifth installment of my "Withdrawing Fables From The Memory Bank" short stories. Being a fictional account of events from the late 1960s, my research to stir up the memories has been a fascinating plunge into the history of that time.
If you haven't been reading it from the links I've provided here in this newsletter and want to sample it. I'll put a link to Part One at the bottom.
The Flood
In 1998 I was living in Vermont. Our house was right next to the Lord’s Prayer Rock, on Route 116, next to the New Haven River, just outside the town of Bristol.
In June of 1998, flooding of the river washed away the road along with one of the key bridges. I went out with my family to look at the damage and I brought along my video camera.
Years later I posted the video on YouTube.
A month ago I was contacted by a media company that was preparing a video for the nearby Lincoln General Store and wanted permission to use a small fragment from my video.
Here is the video about the store.

And if you wish, the original video I shot:

The house in the background is where we lived some 75 years later.
