An artist and a writer walk into a New Year . . .
An artist walks into the New Year . . .
The tourists: Art, schmart.
Unless of course, it is Immersive Van Gogh or something else we can talk about around the Zoom water cooler, or share selfies of ourselves standing next to on FaceTube.
A writer walks into a New Year . . .
The tourists: And fuggedaboutit when it comes to reading.
And certainly not something without the imprimatur of having been officially *"published"*. Because the best-selling books are obviously the best. Not.
I observe the world as I walk around in it. Stranger in a strange land.
I see all of our attention spans being shortened. We are all scratching our little screens with anxious desperation.
How is it that with all of the technology serving our never-ending desire for Convenience, we seem to always have less time?
And thus . . . Thank you for opening this email bonbon!
I have 85 subscribers to this newsletter—which I have now published for seven months. YOU are one of them.
(The highest number of subscribers that have ever opened any edition of this newsletter is 50. On average more than half go unopened!)
In the coming year, time and health permitting, I will continue to create visual art as I am moved. And even more so I hope to devote more time to writing.
These are things I need to do—to reach out, to communicate during my brief visit to this planet.
Here in this newsletter, I will continue sharing my latest visual artwork (photography, collage) and my writings (short fiction, essays).
I hope you will take time to occasionally take a look, maybe read something—and certainly if you see the value — take a brief moment to let me know, or even share it with a friend.
Let's start off with some photographs. Pics of puddles.
