All Eggs In One Basket
Feeding Three Birds With One Seed
In last week's first issue of this newsletter I welcomed all of the subscribers from my blog Tempest-tossed in New York City.
Since the feedburner application which sent notifications to my blog readers is going defunct I have chosen to write this weekly newsletter to reach out to all my subscribers.
And so, in this second issue I am bringing in subscribers from my other two blogs — Notes Of A Souless One and Anomalous Duo NYC — the latter being the blog I share with my life/art partner Tammy Remington.
LIFE ~
If it's not one thing it's another.
I am six months and ten days away from turning 70. Certainly when we reach the major landmark of 50 — half a century — we all scratch out heads in disbelief that we reached a number so unimaginable in our youth. By the time 60 rolls around it just does not seem as dramatic. Recalling ten years ago it seemed like everything was smooth sailing.
At 60 I had decided I was going to stay an imaginary 39 years old physically — forever. It worked for Jack Benny. I had no major illnesses, no breaks or surgeries and so: full steam ahead. And as always: both ends burning. And so in August I went to Burning Man Man for the 8th time.
Not quite. A few months past turning 65, on 7 April 2017, my aging process officially kicked in when I slipped an ruptured my Achille's tendon. Months of healing and my leg would never be quite the same. But that didn't stop me from going with my ortho boot to Burning Man for the 11th time since 2005.
Other ailments started coming on a regular basis. My 12th trip to Burning Man in 2018 was severely affected by meralgia paresthetica — pinched nerve, burning pain; to be avoided.
Year by year, bit by bit I was slowly transforming into Mr. Feebles — the Curmudgeon Action Figure ™ ©.
We all remember from your youth how we heard the old folks going on and on about their body aches. You don't want to hear it — so I will stop here and not go on with my fabulous catalog of ailments and pains that transversed me from head to toe over the past half decade. That's the stuff of many future conversations with friends my age.
ART & STORIES ~
For YOU I have two new short poems — with refracting new art accompanying both. ###
Hope you enjoy.

On roller coaster rides and during sex we sometimes have to close our eyes — the immediacy is that powerful.
