Why I started Chain Reaction (a note from Jack)
I watched a planner spend 3 hours on something an agent can do in 4 seconds. I couldn't unsee it.
Hey,
I'm Jack Matcha, founder of AgentChain and the person writing this newsletter every Tuesday.
I want to use this first issue to be honest with you about why Chain Reaction exists, what I'm trying to do with it, and what you can expect from me going forward.
Here's what I kept seeing.
I spent years watching brilliant supply chain teams drown in work that shouldn't require a human. A planner spending 15 hours a week creating purchase orders. A director manually checking stock levels at 11pm before a holiday weekend. A founder losing $40K in sales to a stockout that three days of data would have predicted.
The tools existed. The data existed. What didn't exist was a system that could act on it — autonomously, continuously, without someone having to press a button first.
That's why I built AgentChain. And it's why I'm writing this newsletter.
What Chain Reaction is.
Every Tuesday morning I'm going to send you one issue covering four things:
One real story of autonomous agents making supply chain decisions.
One data point that matters for where this industry is going. Real ROI numbers from companies deploying agentic tools. And one thing you can actually try this week.
No fluff. No AI hype without evidence. No press-release writing.
Just sharp, specific intelligence for operators, founders, and investors who are paying attention to what autonomous supply chains actually look like in practice — not in pitch decks.
What I'm NOT doing.
I'm not going to hard-sell AgentChain in every issue. I believe the best way to earn your business is to earn your trust first — by being genuinely useful, week after week, before I ever ask you for anything.
When I mention AgentChain it'll be brief, relevant, and at the end. You'll never open Chain Reaction and feel like you accidentally clicked on a sales email.
One ask.
If you know one person a supply chain leader, an e-commerce founder, an investor tracking the AI space who would find this useful, forward it to them this week. That's the only way newsletters like this grow, and I would rather have 500 readers who actually care than 5,000 who don't open it.
I will see you next Tuesday.
Thanks, Jack Matcha
