One! Week! Til Voting!

Ace's recent media appearances, and a call for volunteers for the 16th!

It’s real, it’s happening, it’s the primaries! Where did my blistering summer mornings knocking on strangers’ doors go? Well, there’s a bit of time left; here’s what I’ve been up to and how you can help!

Female turkey walking on Union Street in Northampton
While door-knocking, I encountered this turkey snacking on some of the grasses growing in the sidewalk on Union Street. At least she’s finding a silver lining to the deferred maintenance!

In the Media

It says something about my brain that I love participating in debates; the structure of clear questions and turn-taking gives me a good time. If you missed it (or want to watch again), you can find it on Northampton Open Media’s YouTube. Thanks to them for filming and audio-ing, to the League of Women Voters for organizing, Bombyx for hosting, the Gazette and residents for questions, and everyone who laughed at my puns.

Backstage at the debates at Bombyx; I did not plan to steal the fern’s look…

Of course, it’s not the only video you get of me; my candidate statement with NOM is likewise live! I also just had an interview with The Shoestring; expect an article about the ward 3 candidates similar to the at-large piece and ward 1 piece they’ve already done.

In non-election news, I got second in the pie-eating contest at the Three County Fair! There is no photographic evidence of this that you would wish to see. Instead, have a blueberry pie like the one I ate 2/3s of. Photo (and pies!) from Florence Pie Bar

Call for Volunteers!

I expect you’re at least a little busy (voting!) on the 16th, but if you’ve got some spare time to hold my sign, I’d love to see you! Sign up for a slot at this link, or just show up. I know I’ll be there at the open and close, as well as filling in for lighter times. I’ll have water available for all, as well as a chair or two.

As with last time, I’d also be thrilled with:

  • Sending this email to to a friend

  • Asking me for a lawn sign (replying to this email works!)

  • Writing a letter to the Gazette (up to 350 words)

  • Talking to me about volunteering, or other outreach ideas

Next time: win or lose, I’ll have an update for you on the 17th
