In February was the beginning of the Greensboro sit- ins, when David Richmond, Franklin McCain, Ezell A. Blair, Jr., and Joseph McNeil decided to integrate a Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were brave young Black men and they set off the sit-in movement, which inspired the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. So this is February when they’re being yelled at and spit on, and assaulted, etc. Keep that in your other pocket for later in this post.
