ASP is back [or will be]!

Hello everyone!

Long time no “see.” I hope you are all doing well. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since our last update, but that’s how the proverbial Egyptology cookie crumbles. As some of you may know, I was supposed to return to the field May 8th, however, due to paperwork delays my travel has been delayed until at least mid-June. I do, however, plan on resurrecting this newsletter when I return to Abydos so stay tuned!

In other news, I will be giving a talk through the Somerset County Library System next Wednesday for those interested (shout out to Amanda Levitt for getting me the gig). This will be a little different than my usual talks, I’ve been asked to walk the audience through the process of excavation from proposal to execution, while also touching on some popular Egyptology topics (cough cough, who built the pyramids). It may be more fun for those of you who aren’t thrilled by the nitty gritty of academia. It’s free to sign up and there are 219 seats left!

If you’re interested you can attend through this link.

In the Shadow of a Pyramid: - Somerset County Library System of New Jersey

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be an archaeologist working in Egypt?

Hopefully, I’ll see a few of you there!

Talk soon -

Emily
