Dear Fellow AHNCA Members,

The Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art (AHNCA) invites proposals from its members for its official sponsored session at the 2027 College Art Association (CAA) annual conference, to be held February 3–6, 2027 in New York City.

The AHNCA-sponsored session should focus on some aspect of the long nineteenth century. All topics are welcome, but proposals should not have a narrow geographic focus. If you are interested in chairing this session, please submit a title and 250-word abstract describing it. Co-chaired sessions are also welcome. Once the theme and chair(s) of the session are selected, its chair(s) will solicit contributors through CAA’s open call. The chair(s) must be members in good standing of both AHNCA and CAA.

Submissions should include a CV and should be e-mailed to <ahncasecretary@gmail.com> by Tuesday, April 7.

We will notify applicants by Friday, April 17, so that proposals not chosen for the AHNCA session can still be submitted directly to CAA before its official deadline of April 25, 2026.
