612 POAP Challenge: Red, White & POAP!

Happy 4th of July weekend! 🇺🇸

I’m dropping a special edition 612 POAP Challenge award this weekend -- just for those of you out exploring Minneapolis and celebrating Independence Day. It's called Red, White & POAP, a riff off the amazing Red, White and Boom! fireworks event and all the celebrations around Minneapolis this weekend.

612 POAP Challenge Red, White & POAP Award

📍 How to get Red, White & POAP

Claim any location in the 612 POAP Challenge between Friday, July 4th and Sunday, July 6th, and this celebratory badge is yours! 🤩

Whether you're on the banks of the Mississippi for fireworks or taking a stroll through one of the POAP locations near downtown or anywhere else, make sure to make a claim and you'll be sent the Red, White & POAP token!

Pro tip: A few of the 612 POAP locations are very close to the fireworks… just saying. Download POAP Home and start collecting!

Updates

Other quick updates…

We have a new leader! 0x897e6081…a8e7b962, which is the address for Eric Halaas who created the 612 Series NFTs that the 612 POAP Challenge uses for locations and art. Eric and his son have been grabbing a ton of locations. They have 16 now — just over half of the 31 published locations. I’m gonna guess that Eric knows where the secret locations are too. I’m getting a "Collected Them All" vibe from them! 😊

I’m going to change the Explorer token a bit and make it a token you can only get once. Actually, since it is a POAP I can only give it to you once. You cannot have two POAPs from the same event. If the first person to claim a location already has an Explorer token it will go to the next person, and so on. This will make it more fun and open up that award to more people!

This week I gave a talk on Creating Community with POAPs at the MN Blockchain monthly meetup. I highlighted the 612 POAP Challenge as the featured way I’m doing that this summer. The event was streamed and you can watch the replay on LinkedIn if you would like. I’m planning on sharing a blog post of the talk as well. And of course, I created a POAP for the meetup to share with everyone there!

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend -- and keep collecting! 🇺🇸

Cheers,

Jamie aka poap.thingelstad.eth
