Do you have a plan to vote?
Hi Callers!
Welcome back to 5 Minute Midterms! Just to recap: you've checked your voter registration, you know your voting options, and you're clear on your state's voter ID requirements. Hopefully you've also started researching the candidates and measures on your sample ballot. If not, now's a good time to catch up! You should be feeling pretty prepared, which brings us to Week 5:

Make Your Voting Plan
It's time to get specific. People who make a concrete plan are more likely to actually follow through, so let's nail down the HOW, the WHEN, and the WHERE.
Speaking of the WHEN, we strongly encourage you to vote early if you have the option. If there's an issue with your registration, your ID, or your mail ballot, it’s best that you find out before November 3rd. Voting early also protects your vote from the unexpected. You never know what might happen on Election Day, and you don’t want a sick kid, a broken-down car, or bad weather to prevent you from voting.
If You're Voting In-Person
Are you voting early or on Election Day? Pick a specific day and time, and have a backup in case something comes up. Note: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Vote early if possible!
Do you know where your polling place is? Early voting locations can be different from your Election Day polling place!
How are you getting to the polls? Do you need to arrange a ride, childcare, or time off work?
If You're Voting by Mail
When will you sit down and fill out your ballot?
How are you returning it? (i.e. drop box, election office, USPS)
When will you return your ballot? Note: If you're mailing it, send it AT LEAST a week before your state's deadline. The sooner the better!
If you're using a drop box, do you know where the closest one is?
Once you’ve made your decisions, we’ll help you make your voting plan official!
Week 5 TL;DR
Decide when, where, and how you're voting, and make your plan to vote.
That's it for this week! Don't forget to check the box ✔️ on the 5 Minute Midterms site to unlock your social graphics. Making a plan is contagious, so make sure to share yours with friends!
