Episode 10 - Day 1: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Out Now
This is a podcast about the 69th best tv show of the 21st century according to the br*tish and the premiere podcast destination for Stephen Hopkins Autuerists.
Here’s the episode, but as it's an unusual and unprecedented one, you may want to read the description before listening: https://soundcloud.com/24hourspod/episode-10-day-1-600-pm-800-pm?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
24 HOURS DON'T MAKE AN IDEOLOGY PRESENTS "ON THE GOLDEN GLOBE"*
It was a sunny Thursday afternoon in spring when Ryan and Ian sat down to record this episode. Unseasonably warm in the Midwest and, one can assume, far too hot in the City of Angels, Los Angeles California. All was right with the world. Or was it? Unbeknownst to these podcasters, deep state forces were colluding to prevent them from spreading the Truth. Across time and distance, the overlapping networks both invisible and material that tethered the co-hosts worked their dark magic, capturing an endless string of ones and zeroes, interpreting them back as sound, image -- the low, ambient hum of rooms masking the interference that was taking place. Bedeviled by powers greater than them, but not overcome, what is presented here is a corrupted document of that afternoon. Ryan floats disembodied in and out of the sonic field. Ian howls into the void, ignorant, as if he were having the time of his life with a bunch of friends. They're all just out of frame, laughing too.
The resulting episode is a tribute of sorts to Dennis Hopper's performance in 24. We hope you enjoy, and we promise to be back with a full treatment of Ryan's live and in-person Kiefer experience before we barrel our way to the end of the first season.
*Ryan called this our "On the Silver Globe" episode but I confess I haven't seen the film so I don't understand the reference, but Kiefer Sutherland won a Golden Globe for season 1 of 24 so this is how we arrived at the pun.
